Women

The status of women has been subject to changes over the past few millennia. But the dream of equality in all spheres of life seems a far dream for women in India. The status of women has been raised in the eyes of law, but they are still far from equal to men in every sphere of life. In practice, they continue to suffer discrimination, harassment, humiliation and exploitation in and outside home. And when it comes to Dalit women the situation is more grim. The National Crime Records Bureau(NCRB) in its reports has disclosed the rather unnerving statistics of a crime being committed against the Dalits in every 15 minutes, and that of an average number of six Dalit women being raped each day. This has led us to re-imagine where are we leading towards as a society and thus we aim for bringing justice to the very significant section of our society through our own various legal, social and political measures.
